Polished Concrete Finish & Exposure Options

Concrete polishing allows a range of surface exposures and sheen levels, each creating a different visual character. We help clients select the finish that best complements the architecture and intended use of the space. The following finish options are available through our architectural concrete grinding and polishing services.

Minimal / Light Grind

A very light grinding process that preserves much of the slab’s natural character while producing a smooth, matte concrete surface with subtle variation.

Cream Finish
A light polish that preserves the natural cream layer of the concrete slab, producing subtle variation and a smooth, modern appearance.

Salt & Pepper Finish
The most common architectural polish. Light grinding exposes fine sand aggregates while maintaining a refined, uniform texture.

Full Aggregate Exposure
Deeper grinding reveals the larger aggregate within the slab, creating a bold, terrazzo-like appearance with strong visual character.

Sheen Levels

Concrete floors can also be finished with different levels of polish:

• Matte / Satin
• Low Gloss
• High Gloss

Each level influences how the floor reflects light and interacts with the surrounding architecture.

Final exposure levels depend on the composition of the concrete slab, so early evaluation helps determine the most suitable finish.
